Meet the new General Manager of The Streetsville BIA
There’s a new face at The Streetsville BIA. Welcome Barsha Tanakadoo, our new General Manager.
Barsha is a marketing aficionado and events professional, with over 10 years of experience. Her exposure to these fields started through volunteering opportunities in school, which developed into a passion that she pursued at University as well. She always had a knack for leadership and would seize opportunities that would allow her to increase her skills and knowledge while continuing to pursue her passion. Using events and marketing as tools to raise awareness on a larger scale while also creating unforgettable experiences for people, Barsha has supported different groups and communities, ranging from non-profit organizations, to immigrants and refugees, to small businesses, and more. For the past 5 years, Barsha’s work focused on empowering and supporting new as well as existing businesses, whether it be assisting with building investment pitches and investor relations, accessing resources from the Government and other institutions, or increasing their online and in-person presence through campaigns. Her exposure to the BIA world started at the Bloor West Village BIA, where she used her above-mentioned skills and knowledge to support businesses and the community. She now brings her expertise to the Streetsville BIA and community.
Barsha graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from York University in 2019 where she majored in Business Administration and Management. In her spare time, Barsha loves to engage in any activity that allows her to pursue her passion and love for creativity. These range from painting to photography, to visiting art galleries and immersive exhibitions. For fun, Barsha enjoys going to concerts, traveling, and making charcuterie boards.
