New Streetsville Village Banners

As you may have noticed our brand new banners have been installed all throughout Streetsville! These banners have been designed as part of a City Wide public art program in partnership with Mississauga Made. Mississauga Made is an online initiative inspired to support and promote local Mississauga products, businesses, artists, stories, activities, and experiences within our community. The goal for Mississauga Made is to create a centralized hub for all things Mississauga Made, so residents, visitors or fellow businesses alike can start to Shop Local, Source Local & Support Local. For more information on the Mississauga Made initiative and how you can support local small businesses check out their website Here!

The artist who’s design was chosen to be on our lovely banners was created by Asli Alin, who’s project proposal featured designs for five BIA banners. She strived to capture snapshots, each with a hint of local flavour specific to a respective neighbourhood, while still looking cohesive. Aslin Alin explained that her inspiration for her Streetsville banner art designs “features the Streetsville Village Square with its iconic yellow umbrellas, patio chairs, and pink herring bone patio pavers. The carefully selected colour palette includes the burgundy of the #MississaugaMade banner, and borrows notes from the existing Streetsville banners creating a strong and flavourful connection.”

So be sure to keep an eye out for our new beautiful banners this summer as you explore #TheVille! And if you snap a pic be sure to tag us @streetsvillebia and #MississaugaMade!
