The Streetsville Business Improvement Association (BIA) represents and promotes the vibrant business community within the Historic Village of Streetsville. With year-round events, a lively main street, and a strong local business network, Streetsville is always buzzing with activity.

With tourism expected to surge during the FIFA season, now is the perfect time to spotlight Streetsville as a destination – and we’re counting on you to help bring that magic to our Village.

We’re looking for a creative, driven post-secondary student or recent graduate who wants hands-on experience in marketing, content creation, and event execution. This is an opportunity to build a professional portfolio, develop real industry skills, and play a meaningful role in shaping how the community experiences Streetsville. This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. This is not a remote or hybrid work setting, in-office is a requirement.

Why This Role Is Great for Your Career:

● Build a real marketing portfolio with videos, newsletters, campaigns, and digital
content viewed by thousands.
● Gain event management experience by supporting major community events, markets,
and activations.
● Work directly with local businesses, vendors, and community stakeholders,
gaining valuable professional connections.
● Have creative freedom to pitch and develop new ideas that showcase the Village.
● Make a real impact in a dynamic, community-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS
● Produce monthly “Day in Streetsville” reels/TikToks and business feature videos.
● Create and distribute the monthly community e-newsletter.

● Update the Streetsville BIA website, including the events calendar and business
directory.
● Monitor and engage with social media comments and messages.
● Support additional marketing projects, campaigns, and storytelling initiatives.

EVENT COORDINATION
● Assist in planning, organizing, and executing community events of all sizes.
● Support event logistics, including craft tables, vendor coordination, setup, and on-site
operations (some weekends required).
● Participate in signature events and other community events such as:

  • Canada Day – Wednesday, July 1
  • First Friday Markets – June & July
  • Movie Night – Dates TBD (Usually Sunday nights)
Please note that work hours on event days are typically outside regular office day hours.

● Attend event-related subcommittee meetings as needed.

Qualifications:
● Experience in marketing and/or event coordination (professional, academic, or
volunteer).
● Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from marketing, communications, business,
hospitality, event management, journalism, or a related program.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills.
● Experience with Mailchimp, Canva, Capcut, and Meta.
● Confident, friendly, and comfortable interacting with business owners and the public.
● Passionate about creating engaging social media content and staying current with
trends.
● Outgoing, enthusiastic, and comfortable working at busy community events.
● Interest in community development, tourism, business engagement, or event planning is
an asset.
