Questions and Answers
A Business Improvement Area (BIA) is a local organization made up of all commercial property owners and businesses within a defined boundary. BIAs work collectively to strengthen the area as a place to do business and visit.
Rather than operating individual businesses, the BIA focuses on enhancing the overall district through initiatives like events, marketing, beautification, and advocacy. These efforts help increase foot traffic, enhance the look and feel of the area, and support the visibility of local businesses.
While the BIA promotes the area as a whole, individual businesses remain responsible for their own operations and customer experience.
All businesses and commercial property owners located within the BIA boundary are automatically members of the BIA. Membership is tied to the property, meaning businesses within the area contribute through a levy collected with property taxes.
A map of the BIA boundary is provided below.
If your business is located outside of these boundaries, you may apply to become an associate member. Learn more here.
